Environmental Science students from the University of South Florida visit Las Cuevas Research Station. They had hands on experience in natural resource management, research, and monitoring protocols. Their eight day stay at Las Cuevas Research Station was 100% practical field work that not only allowed participants to gain knowledge on research methods but also to develop their leadership and team working skills. Students had the opportunity to visit the Mountain Pine Ridge Forest Reserve to learn about pine forest ecosystems and what are some key issues related to proper management. While at Caracol Archaeological Reserve, they dive into culture and how culture is related to the environment. You were all great people and congratulations for surviving the Chiquibul Forest. Remember that your stay at Las Cuevas Research Station contributes to the management and conservation of the Chiquibul Forest.
