The Biologist is also assisted by Mr. Rafael Mesh who is originally from the Maya village of San Antonio. Rafael has experience in station management and worked for the Belize Forest Department for more than 10 years. At the station there are also four field assistants, whose efforts have been centralized on assessing chamaedorean palm populations, the impacts of illegal logging and poaching, as well as monitoring Belize’s last population of scarlet macaws.
